RHAS and UNFPA launch health workshops in JUST

The Royal Health Awareness Society (RHAS), in cooperation with the UNFPA, the United Nations Population Fund launched today two health education workshops for the students of the Jordan University of Science and Technology as part of Shababna project, one of several projects conducted by RHAS which aims to establish a national network of Jordanian youth volunteers that play a significant role in educating their peers and encouraging healthy lifestyles and behaviors.

The two workshops will last for five weeks, where more than 60 students from various faculties will be participating in it to implement health initiatives in the university that tackles different health topics such as diabetes, smoking, cancer, obesity, mental health, reproductive health, family planning, and many more.

It’s worth mentioning that RHAS and the UNFPA, the United Nations Population Fund held training which was given by specialized doctors and experts to empower the staff of faculty of nursing at Jordan University of Science and Technology, so they can be able to hold an educational health workshop that targets the students during the second semester 2013/2014

RHAS is a Jordanian non-profit organization established in 2005 under the direction of Her Majesty Queen Rania Al Abdullah. It aims at enhancing the overall wellbeing of local communities by raising health awareness and empowering Jordanians to embrace healthy lifestyles and behaviors. RHAS initiates and supports community-based health and safety interventions in partnership with public, private and civil
