RHAS concludes the Healthy Schools evaluation visits

RHAS concludes its evaluation field visits for the participated schools in the healthy schools project which lasted from April 7 to May 28, where the evaluation team looked at the achievements that have been done in 68 schools, in order to be accredited as Healthy schools. 


The evaluation team which consists of 3 persons headed by a RHAS team member visited the participated schools, and looked at the achievements that have been done through implementing the healthy standards to reach and develop a healthy setting for living, learning, and working, and assessed their performance. The team assessed their performance according to the 11 chapters of the project (Management and leadership, safe school environment, healthy school environment, clean school environment, Health education, community and staff participation, health services, social and psychological support, physical activity, diet, and swimming pools)


The Healthy Schools Project was launched in 2008/2009 as a pilot phase with the participation of 26 schools from all directorates, in addition to 40 schools from the Madrasati initiative, of which 32 schools were accredited as Healthy Schools.


RHAS was established in 2005 under the direction of Her Majesty Queen Rania Al-Abdullah to promote health and to empower Jordanians to adopt healthy lifestyles and behaviors. RHAS community-based projects are implemented in accordance with the needs of the communities and revolve around the national health priorities.
