26/07/2015

The Royal Health Awareness Society has recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Nursing Faculty of the Jordan University of Science and Technology (JUST) to better develop, promote and implement its Health Reinforcing Course with the aim to increase the awareness among youth about various health issues, build capacity and strengthen their role in leading health reinforcement through interactive educational courses.

The Royal Health Awareness Society (RHAS), with the support of the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), has successfully implemented SHABABANA project at Jordan University of Science and Technology during the year of 2013/2014; where they trained 70 students through the first stage of the course which aimed to reflect various health issues and skills, in addition to the importance of their role in maintaining their health and the health of their families and the community.

Based on this successful experience, and due to the increased demand to expand the umbrella of the beneficiaries of this project, the Royal Health Awareness Society and in cooperation with the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), took the initiative to implement the second phase of it in another two universities; where the central team that has been developed by the faculty members in the Nursing College at JUST University will help in providing the necessary training for the team that will implement this interactive course at the other universities offering it as an elective course with the aim to exchange experiences and promote implementing the health reinforcement course.

It is worth mentioning that the final version of the curriculum will be developed and enrolled as an elective course within the studying plan of all universities, where it will be implemented as a prototype stage during the fall semester of 2015/2016.
