Royal Health Awareness Society (RHAS) has recently signed an agreement with the Jordanian Osteoporosis Prevention Society (JOPS) at the aim of cooperating in the field of increasing awareness about Osteoporosis and prevention methods.
Among the main pillars of the agreement signed by Dr. Sae’ed Abdul Majeed, President of JOPS and Mrs. Hanin Odeh, Director of RHAS is to organize joint activities to boost communication channels with individuals in the local communities about this widespread illness and the necessity to perform the much needed diagnostic tests, especially for women, as studies executed by JOPS have shown that 24% of all women above fifty had been inflicted with the disease.
According to the agreement, both parties will cooperate on developing awareness material and capitalize on RHAS’s existence in a number of health centers around the Kingdom. In addition to that, both societies will promote their activities and raise awareness about the active role they play in this domain.
Commenting on the importance of signing this agreement, Mrs. Hanin Odeh, RHAS’s Director said that: “holding such partnerships with a number of specialized Jordanian societies in specific medical fields, helps us expand the scope of work on a variety of health issues, especially those with high priority to local communities.” She also stressed on the importance of joining efforts between civil societies that work in the health awareness arena.
From his side, Dr. Sae’ed Abdul Majeed, JOPS President, stressed that this cooperation between the two societies comes to serve all local community segments at the aim of increasing awareness about this silent illness known as Osteoporosis. “This Initiative will render its fruits with the increase in need of awareness about Osteoporosis amongst people, especially so in light of the rapid and enormous increase in the Kingdom’s population which increase the burden upon us to keep communication channels with communities open and continuous.”
