The
Royal Health Awareness Society and the King Abdullah II Fund for Development
sign MoU to spread health awareness
Coinciding with the World Youth Day, the Royal Health
Awareness Society and the King Abdullah II Fund for Development signed a
memorandum of understanding on the deployment of health awareness among young
people in Jordan, under which the two sides will implement a range of
activities and projects related to health awareness provided by RHAS in
cooperation with KAFD`s Program (All Jordan Youth Commission).
This agreement aims at spreading health awareness among
Jordanian youth through a series of sessions at the centers of AJYC present in
all governorates of the Kingdom, and will tackle an array of health subjects
such as obesity, diabetes, mental health, family planning, changes in
adolescence, reproductive health , safe
motherhood, as well as raise awareness about prevention of drugs abuse, and
smoking addiction..
Under this MOU, RHAS will train a group of AJYC young
volunteers in to raise awareness of their peers in these health topics
From his side, King Abdullah II Fund for Development
Director Mr. Saeb Al-Hasan who will in turn this MoU said that, strengthens the
Fund's role in raising youth awareness and building their capacity in issues
that imoact their lives through AJYC
programs.
Al - Hasan added that the Fund in collaboration with the
Royal Health Awareness Society facilitate and support RHAS through offering
AJYC premises to hold training programs and related activities aimed at health awareness.
Al - Hasan pointed out that KAFD will also declare all the AJYC
centers and activities smoke –free.
Director General of RHAS Mrs. Hanin Odeh, commented:
"The signing of this memorandum is a great opportunity for us to reach out
to youth across Jordan with health messages and enable them to change their
behaviours, particularly on the issue of smoking that is highly prevalent
amongst youth in Jordan.
Odeh added that RHAS will provide all related materials,
publications, videos and tools to
assist in the delivery of health.
